Senior Vice President of Commercial, X2 Resources
Kit Pfeiffer is Senior Vice President of Commercial for X2 Resources, a private portfolio company of EnCap. X2 is the second vehicle of the XCL Team, which helped bring the shale revolution to the Uinta basin of Utah. At XCL, Kit was responsible for building the oil and gas sales and supply chain networks that allowed the basin to rapidly grow beyond its historical limits. XCL sold their assets to SM in 2024 for $2.55 Billion.
Assistant Professor of Energy Finance, Texas Christian University
Tom Seng is an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in Energy Finance at Texas Christian University’s Ralph Lowe Energy Institute, Neeley School of Business. His other teaching experience includes serving as an Adjunct Instructor for TU, The University of Oklahoma, Penn State University and Texas Christian University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York, an MBA in Oil & Gas Management from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland, and a Doctorate in Education from Maryville University in St. Louis. He is the author of “Energy Trading & Hedging: A Nontechnical Guide” (PennWell 2019).
Chief Executive Officer, PureWest Energy
Christopher Valdez is Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Managers of PureWest Energy, Wyoming’s largest natural gas producer. In addition to his role at PureWest, he serves on the boards of industry trade organizations, including Western Energy Alliance and AXPC.
Prior to joining PureWest, Christopher was CEO of Middle Fork Energy Partners, a private equity-backed Uinta Basin portfolio company that he co-founded. His earlier experience includes serving as Vice President of Planning & Marketing at Vantage Energy and holding commercial and technical leadership roles of increasing responsibility at Encana, culminating in Vice President of Planning. He began his career as a consultant focused on natural gas market fundamentals.
Christopher grew up in North Denver and is a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He also holds an MBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.

Vice President, Enbridge Wexpro
In his role as vice president and general manager of Enbridge Wexpro. He is responsible for Enbridge Wexpro’s operations, drilling, completions, business development, geology, engineering, land and administration functions.
Rasmussen joined Questar Gas in 1994. He has served as a revenue accountant, supervisor-Revenue Accounting, and manager and general manager-Accounting, and vice president-administration all with Enbridge Wexpro.
Prior to the merger with Dominion Energy in 2016, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer of Wexpro.
He serves on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Utah. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Utah State University.
