As Michigan pursues one of the boldest renewable energy transition plans in the country, how and where renewable energy and storage projects get sited is key. Public Act 233 of 2023 (PA 233) gives the Michigan Public Service Commission new authority relating to the siting of renewables and energy storage. With forecasts for 2026 projecting record-breaking requests for siting approval, this talk will provide background and context to where things stand, and what you, as landmen, should be aware of to be better prepared and informed.
Sarah Mullkoff is the Manager of the Renewable Energy and Storage Siting Section at the Michigan Public Service Commission. In this role, she leads the staff team in review of renewable energy and storage applications before the Commission, while facilitating engagement with developers, affected local units of government, and other interested parties.
