Husch Blackwell Law Firm
Katie Plas is an Associate at Husch Blackwell, where she handles real estate and mineral rights transactions for renewable energy developers. In her current role, Katie advises clients on mineral title and ownership issues for solar and wind projects, and negotiates the surface waivers and accommodation agreements that allow renewable development to proceed alongside existing mineral interests. Prior to practicing law, she spent several years as a petroleum engineer, where she bridged the gap between landowners and operations and served as a technical witness in civil litigation. Katie holds a bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, cum laude, and a bachelor's degree in Geology, cum laude, both from Marietta College, and a juris doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where she earned a certificate in Oil and Gas, Natural Resources, and Energy Law. She is admitted to practice in Missouri and Oklahoma.
