Senior Commercial Advisor, Shell
Trey Brantley is a Senior Commercial Advisor with Shell supporting deepwater exploration and development projects. He is a Certified Professional Landman (CPL) and attorney with more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry spanning land, legal, commercial, business development, and joint venture management roles.
Throughout his career, Trey has worked on a wide range of upstream transactions and asset management activities, including lease acquisitions and divestitures, operating agreements, farmouts, exploration and development projects, infrastructure arrangements, and complex joint venture negotiations. His experience includes both onshore and offshore assets across multiple U.S. basins, including the Permian Basin, Appalachia, Haynesville, and deepwater Gulf of Mexico.
In his current role, Trey is the Commercial Advisor for Shell's Appomattox asset. He is responsible for all commercial matters related to the asset and supports exploration and development opportunities across the surrounding Norphlet trend. His work includes joint venture management, commercial stewardship, operating agreements, infrastructure arrangements, and coordination with co-owners to advance exploration and development projects. Trey is an active member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and serves as an instructor for AAPL's RPL/CPL Review Course, where he enjoys helping land professionals prepare for certification and develop the practical skills needed for long-term success in the industry.

Managing Member, Zacale Resources Company, LLC
Larry is a native Oklahoman. He attended the University of Oklahoma where in 1981 he received a B.B.A., majoring in Petroleum Land Management. Upon graduation Larry began his career with Texas Oil & Gas Corp(“TXO”) in their land management training program.
In 1985, Larry moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to work for Charles Schusterman at Landmark Exploration Company/Samson Resources Company as a Senior Landman.
While at Samson Larry received his M.B.A. from Oklahoma City University in 1993.
In 1995, Larry moved to Oklahoma City to work for JMA Energy Company as a Senior Landman and later as their Land Manager working all of Oklahoma acquiring ground floor leases and working interest.
In 1999, Larry took a position at CHK Energy Corporation working in the Business Development group as direct report to Tom Ward, co-founder of CHK, working Western Oklahoma and Texas Panhandle. Larry later became Land Manager for the Western Anadarko division, the Barnett Shale/East Texas/North Louisiana divisions.
In mid-2006, Larry joined Tom Ward when he started SandRidge Energy on his executive team as Executive Vice-President of Land.
In 2008 Larry started his own private land service/consulting company, Zacale Resources Company, LLC, working for several private, public, and private equity backed companies providing acquisition and divestiture services, land, land administration and division order services.
In mid-2014, Larry moved back into the public company arena as Land Manager for Matador Resources Company working the Permian, Eagle Ford and Haynesville basin areas being a mentor, teacher, and leader to the company landmen, land support staff and division order staff.
In September 2015 Larry took a position with BP America Production Company in the Lower 48 division as Land Director, Mid-Con Development Business Unit. In March 2022 Larry took a retirement package with BP America and currently works as a Contract/Consultant Landman for Silverback Exploration Company
Larry is a member of AAPL, Tulsa Association of Professional Landmen (TAPL), and Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen (OCAPL). He currently serving on the OCAPL board and co-committee chairman for the Weekend Take Off event sponsored by OCAPL every fall, and past chairman of the AAPL Forms Committee and current Forms Committee member. Board member for University of Oklahoma Energy Management program.
Married forty (40) years to wife Julie and sons, Zachary and Cale and grandkids, Brooks, Finley, Collier, and Cameron all living in Edmond, Oklahoma. Enjoys reading, traveling, playing golf and attending OU academic and sports events.

Curtis D. Horne, CPL, is Vice President, Business Development – Energy, for Percheron LLC, a nationwide land services firm, and is based in Houston, Texas. Curt began his career as an independent landman in 1981 and has experience in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Montana. A member of the American Association of Professional Landmen since 1997, Curt earned his Certified Professional Landman designation in 1999. He is Chairman of the 2013 AAPL Annual Meeting Committee, is a member of the Publications Committee, and is Past Chairman of the Ethics, Certification, and Field Landman Committees. He served on the AAPL Executive Committee as Treasurer for 2007-2008. Curt was named the recipient of the 2008 AAPL Education Award, the 2007 AAPL Best Member Communication Award, and the 2002 AAPL Field/Independent Landman Award. On the local level, Curt is a member of the North Houston Association of Professional Landmen, where he serves as President for 2012-2013, and the Houston Association of Professional Landmen, where he served as Treasurer for 2007-2008.
Curt is an instructor for the AAPL Certified Professional Landman Exam Review and the AAPL Introduction to Field Land Practices Seminar, presenting topics which include Real Property Law, Contract Law, Land Descriptions, The Oil & Gas Lease, Title Opinions and Curative, Conveyancing, Interest Calculations, Negotiations and Ethics. He has also spoken on a variety of topics for the Energy Land Institute, NGL Institute, Canadian APL, HAPL, NHAPL, ALTAPL, SAAPL, NADOA, HADOA, NALTA, ALTA, and at The Association of Desk and Derricks Clubs National Convention.
Mr. Horne lives in the Houston suburb of Pearland with his wife Jamie and their daughter, age 15, and son, age 14. They are active parishioners at St. Helen Catholic Church, where Curt was the Chairman of the 2008 Parish Bazaar and Auction and is an usher and Eucharistic minister. Curt enjoys cycling and running, and has successfully completed the BP MS150, the Hotter’n Hell Hundred, and the Houston Marathon.
