LST Awards

Landman Scholarship Trust Scholarship Awards

The LST awards cash scholarships to qualified and deserving undergraduate and graduate students who are AAPL Student Members currently attending colleges or universities that offer an active and accredited curriculum in natural resources management or similar studies who wish to further their training in professional landwork, natural resources management or associated occupations.

Scholarship and Application Process
  • Scholarships to be awarded are for qualifying tuition and educational expenses incurred for the Fall and Spring terms as well as for the Outstanding Graduate.
  • Applications can be saved as DRAFT to allow you to continue working on them at a later stage but only final submissions will be considered for review. Please note that the selection committee carefully reviews your answers and verifies the information provided.
  • Fields marked with an asterisk must be completed in order for you to SUBMIT your application. 
  • Once you have completed your application, click on the SUBMIT button.
  • Outstanding Graduate applications must be submitted by Nov. 17. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.
  • Undergraduate and graduate applications must be submitted by Feb. 2.
  • Applicants acknowledge the following (for questions or clarification, please confirm directly with your university or program director):
    • This scholarship is intended for qualifying tuition and other related education expenses as defined by the Internal Revenue Service Code Section 117.
    • Funds awarded from the Landman Scholarship Trust shall not be applied to expenses for a student’s room, board, travel or other non-qualifying expenses. If the student has no qualified tuition or other related education expenses due to other scholarships, etc., all LST funds shall be returned to AAPL.
    • Applicants will be responsible for any applicable income taxation for awards that may be granted to an applicant.
    • Applicants applying for the undergraduate and graduate awards: Awards are issued directly to the university or program for further management, and awards are to be applied and used solely for “Qualified Education Expenses” as defined under IRS guidelines effective as of the date of submission of this application. All or any portion of expenses deemed as ineligible Qualified Education Expenses by your university or program shall be considered rescinded by the Landman Scholarship Trust.
    • The Landman Scholarship Trust reserves the right to rescind all or part of any award at its sole discretion.
    • The application process and awards are governed by the Landman Scholarship Trust’s Declaration of Trust document and, in the event of any conflicts between this online application and the Declaration of Trust, the Declaration of Trust shall prevail.
