Brian K. Tolson, CPL
Brian K. Tolson, CPL, is a partner and senior landman at Equitas Energy Partners LLC based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. After graduating from Texas Tech University in 2007, he worked in the real estate industry for a few years before finding his true calling as a field landman. In addition to the opportunity to gain experience in several of the major basins across the country, he has been able to learn from some of the best and most respected landmen in the industry and continually welcomes the challenges of discovering all the energy industry has to offer.
Tolson joined AAPL in 2012 and earned his CPL designation in 2021. He also is a member of the Dallas Association of Petroleum Landmen, the Fort Worth Association of Professional Landmen and the Permian Basin Landmen’s Association. He has been increasingly active in these professional associations. In the last five years, Tolson has served DAPL members as secretary, president and AAPL director. He also serves as co-chair of the DAPL Scholarship Committee and is serving his second term on AAPL’s Field Landman Seminar Committee.
Tolson met his wife, Nicole, while they were attending Texas Tech University. They are raising three beautiful and active children — Taylor, 13, Tripp, 11 and Turner, 8 — in Brock, Texas. Outside the office, you will find Tolson with his family all over the countryside playing every sport you could imagine. When there is a little time left in the day, you will find them on the back porch cooking and relaxing together.
