Gulf Coast Land Institute

Fall 2025 | The Bayou

Plans are underway to host this event in the fall of 2025!

2024 Recap: Attendance Sets Record on the Bayou

This year’s edition of the Gulf Coast Land Institute returned to Lafayette, Louisiana, and the fall after most recently occurring in New Orleans in the spring of 2023. GCLI attendees enjoyed first-class professional development, tasty food and fun networking over two days in mid-October.

The 2024 GCLI set a record for the most attendees for the institute ever and tripled the 2023 edition! The diverse backgrounds and many attendees from Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas provided ample opportunities to make new, unique business connections during networking meals, breaks and an evening reception after the first day of education.

Professional development focused on hot issues relevant to the region and beyond, which included geothermal rights, oil and gas unitization in Louisiana, witness preparation, offshore GOM and CCUS in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, among others. The institute concluded with a keynote luncheon featuring Judge James T. “Jimmy” Genovese, covering professionalism in the workplace.

Special thanks to the record-breaking crowd and all the incredible presenters, committee members, sponsors and hotel staff for making this institute a success! Additionally, AAPL would like to thank the Lafayette Association of Professional Landmen, Baton Rouge Association of Professional Landmen, Professional Landmen’s Association of New Orleans and Mississippi Association of Petroleum Landmen for their valued partnership on this event.
