Write Your Story This Annual Meeting in Boston

We are thrilled to officially announce Annual Meeting’s return to Boston June 19-21, 2024! Below are some exciting updates I’d like to share regarding the 70th installment of the professional development and land conference.

WHY BOSTON?

Over 1,000 land professionals gathered for AAPL’s Annual Meeting in Boston in 2011. Not only was the 57th edition one of the most well-attended meetings, it was one of the highest-rated Annual Meetings per our post-meeting surveys. Since then, a return to Boston has consistently been requested by our members. Like in 2011, Boston will provide a unique backdrop for official Annual Meeting events as well as extracurricular options for attendees to explore the historical city.

One of Boston’s most historic and beautiful hotels, the Hilton Boston Park Plaza, will serve as Annual Meeting’s host. Centrally located in America's Walking City, the hotel is surrounded by a wicked amount of shopping, dining and entertainment. The Boston Common and the Public Garden are steps away from the hotel and other Boston-musts like Fenway Park, Freedom Trail, Samuel Adams Brewery, Museum of Fine Arts and the Charles River are within a short car ride. Special Annual Meeting events will be held in iconic Boston venues like the State Room, which provides unmatched views of the Boston Harbor, and the Cheers Bar, where everybody knows your name, but still bring your nametag just in case.

WRITE YOUR STORY

Boston is not only historically significant for its role in the American Revolution but has also served as the playground for some of our country’s most beloved authors. With Boston being the birthplace of American literature, “Write Your Story” will serve as a fitting theme throughout Annual Meeting.

Annual Meeting will be a time to reflect on the story of our careers and reenergize meaning as we continue our journey. For our experienced members, what legacy do you want to leave? For the next generation of leaders, what impact do you want to make? And for new energy professionals, what path are you wanting to take? With the demographic shifts happening in AAPL and radical changes happening in our industry, the birthplace of American literature is the perfect place to determine not only our individual stories, but to continue the story of our profession.

Furthering our theme, acclaimed songwriters from Nashville-based The Bluebird Cafe will serve as entertainment during an exciting new event called AAPL Celebrates. These award-wining musicians will perform and share the stories behind some of the chart-topping songs they’ve written for legendary artists like Tim McGraw, The Eli Young Band and Miranda Lambert. The up-close-and-personal experience of how songwriters create their music will cap off an unforgettable night of celebration, dining and stunning views from the aforementioned State Room.

ANNUAL MEETING REIMAGINED

With a revamped schedule, dual education tracks, new advanced education seminars, evolved networking sessions and other exciting changes, Annual Meeting itself will largely be rewritten. But don’t worry — the 70th edition will still be packed with time-honored traditions created throughout the years, including the Welcome Reception, Horizon Breakfast, Passing of the Gavel and Membership Business Meeting, among other fantastic experiences.

We are finalizing our schedule, including our topic and presenter selections and can’t wait to share the full details with you. Until then, take advantage of our preferred rates, which end Feb. 23, or consider supporting Annual Meeting through one of our sponsorship options. See you in Boston!
